Uptown shopping Center

Uptown Shopping Center is a popular photo location in Richland. It is one of the town’s few “urban” locations, being one of the only concrete playgrounds in the Tri-Cities. It is full of colorful walls and alleyways, which provide a variety of backdrops for photo sessions. There are times during the day with minimal foot traffic, making it easy to take photos and avoid pedestrians in the background.

Thinking creatively

My favorite photos from the session ended up being the ones we took between two recycling bins in the parking lot. There are these gorgeous burning bushes snuggled between all of the bins and I knew it was the perfect spot for some headshots with Gage tucked in them. They ended up being some of my favorite photos from my Class of 2023 senior season, and you would never know that Gage is standing in the middle of a bunch of recycling bins.

This is the perfect example of how some of the best photo locations are in places you never expect. It is worth taking time and searching high and low for spots you might have never thought of. Some of the best photo locations I have found are in places I never would have shot at at first glance. But when you take the time to explore and think creatively about locations, you end up finding gems that you use over and over again.
